Everything is possible and mantras really do work

A.k.a. ‘With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine'

‘No one can fully explain the mystery of Mantras. Their magical sounds help heal physical imbalances, relax the mind, quiet the emotions and open the heart. They stimulate, activate, motivate and rejuvenate. They help you dance or sleep, laugh or cry, make love or meditate. They help you forget some one or find some one.’ Henry Marshall

Aloha Goddesses and Gods of this world, Love and Blessings all round!

I love Mantras; they worked for me every time I have the discipline to complete the 40 day cycle – funny that – even though I know and accept the direct power of mantras, I still sometimes struggle to stick out the 40 day cycle.

Here’s how to use mantras to help you to move in a desired direction.
Select the mantra that best serves the purpose – each mantra serves differently – there are mantras for specific physical healings, mantras for ego release, mantras for abundance, mantras for better parent child relations, mantras for peace, there are even mantras to bless you with a Divine husband or Divine wife, never mind the ones that give you freedom from sexual inhibitions!

I have listed some mantras and their service at the end of the sharing. There are many sites that list mantras and their particular service; http://www.sanskritmantra.com/simple.htm http://www.reikiandyoga.com/mantra.html

It’s important to commit to chanting your mantra 108 times every day for 40 days. This locks in the vibration of the mantra and ensures powerful results. Note that if you skip a day, it’s important to start from the beginning again, so that you achieve 40 uninterrupted days.

Most Krishna stores have the 108 prayer beads (mala), using prayer beads makes chanting a breeze; trying to count on your fingers is possible but very distracting and restrictive, keeping some of your consciousness away from the chanting.

Chanting at the same time every day, especially before sunrise or after sunset adds power to the mantra, but don’t be too hard on yourself. Initially it’s best to focus on sticking it out for 40 days, without being too rigid on the times etc. Once you’re comfortable with the discipline you can add elements that allow the mantra to better serve.

Other ways to add power to your mantra are to prepare for ceremony, this may include lighting a candle and incense, creating a sacred space in your home (very cool thing to do, I’ll cover this in detail another time), brush your teeth and clean yourself (either shower or wash your hands and feet), stretch, stick out your tongue and make some noises to release any stuck feelings, sit up straight and create an environment with least distractions – be warm or cool enough, be comfortable and be undisturbed.

It’s best to sing the mantras out loud rather than to just repeat them in your head (see Gardner’s 9 elements of healing music below). There are some really good mantra CD’s available that will help you to get the rhythm of each mantra. My favourite is the Henry Marshall Mantras double CD. But don’t let not having the CD stop you, make up your own rhythm in the meantime, or just chant the mantra in a way that feels most right for you.

The first mantra that I took seriously and sustained for 40 days was an abundance mantra, for wisdom, wealth and protection: Om eim hreem kleem chamundayai vichhe namaha; and by day 30 my finances were shifting. I was offered, and accepted, a well paying position, with my first pay cheque going into my account about two weeks after I’d finished my 40 days.

You may sometimes find that despite your best intentions you break the 40 day cycle. I find that this happens most to me between week one and week two. Don’t be too hard on yourself, take a day or two break and start again, and by again, I mean start back on day 1 again.

I find that often the mantra brings up that which is blocking me from accessing the blessing of that mantra. The stuff that comes up can often be challenging and is not always gentle – this is a good sign that the power of the mantra is in effect and that you’re releasing old beliefs and blocks in order to achieve your intention in working with that mantra.

I’ll use the mantra that I’m currently working with as an example, I’m chanting the peace mantra: Om Shanti Om – (to achieve inner peace is to create an outer world reflecting peace back to me – YAY!). I’m my forth or fifth attempt at this mantra and this time I can feel that I’m through the worst of it, at day 21!

Many aspects of my life that haven’t been at peace have come up for me to work with and release / make peace with. For example: My youngest child and I went into huge battle for a solid week as I realised that my non-existent boundaries weren’t serving him or me. By the end of a week of me holding strong to new boundaries (getting him to dress himself and ready himself for school, without my assistance) we were both shaky and tearful from the challenge – the challenge for me to maintain boundaries that made me feel like I was being a wicked old witch, and for him the challenge to push as hard as he knew how (SCREAMING AND KICKING) against these new boundaries which certainly didn’t suit his frame of reference where Mom does everything for him … and then … ta daaa, the switch. He announced that he no longer wanted to fight with me, and has since then, angelically prepared himself for school.
Peace; Om Shanti Om; aaahhh!

Each time one of these ‘face and resolve the discord in your life’ experiences has come up, I’ve chickened out and quit the mantra. After a few days of breathing, I’ve returned to day one. Om Shanti Om.

Today, I sat near a beautiful lake and shared my peace mantra with a very dear and special friend. Toward the end of the 108 chants I had a really strong sense of gratitude in the awareness that, sitting across from my friend, with the many outdoor sounds and the cool breeze, I was at complete peace!
Om Shanti Om!

Be well wonderful people, enjoy the blessings that mantras bring into your life. Love and Peace to all.

Kay Gardner (1990, pp. 227 - 229) identifies nine elements in healing music. These give you a sense of the benefits in singing your mantras. 1). Drone -- Healing music should have a constant tone that drones behind a simple melody. 2). Repetition -- Short musical phrases, whether vocal or instrumental, should be repeated over and over which produces a calming effect. 3). Harmonics -- Long sustained tones produce harmonic overtones which Gardner says "balance the physical body with the unseen bodies -- emotional, mental, and spiritual -- that form the aura's layers." (pp. 227-228) 4). Rhythm -- The function of rhythm in music is to duplicate the many pulses in the human body and then through entrainment move the pulses into a healthier natural pattern. 5). Harmony -- Harmony affects the emotions. Various keys (major or minor) evoke feeling states be they sad, joyous, triumphant, soothing or mysterious. According to Gardner, intervals harmonize the emotions and can bring dis-eased organs back into molecular relationships of harmony. 6). Melody -- The mind is engaged by melody. This takes the attention away from day to day afflictions and allows healing to occur. 7). Instrumental colours -- Each instrument has its own unique voice composed of characteristic overtones and waveforms. These penetrate various areas of the body and have a balancing effect. 8). Form -- The structure of a musical piece determines where the journey will take the listener. Pieces that have many changes in tempo and mood will be stimulating whereas pieces that are steady and predictable have a calming effect. 9). Intention -- Music seems written by the hand of the Divine. The musician must recognize and honour the power of its effects. Music played with focused intention has the power to harm or heal. Intention is perhaps the most important attribute of music's healing affects.

The Powerful Prayer of Perception

Aloha Gods and Goddesses of this world, Blessings to you all!

So many insights, so many experiences, so many shifts and growths and stucks and stubbornesses and gratitutes and blessings and loves and not-much-love-at-alls and…and…and!!!

So, where to begin on this adventure of sharing, and after all, sharing is caring

The Powerful Prayer of Perception – this is a most wonderful place to begin, by sharing some magic, some powerful prayer magic that helps to make significant shift in my world every time I surrender to it.

This prayer was in Marianne Williamson’s book, A Return to Love, based on a Course in Miracles, I’ve tweaked it a bit to better suit my less Christian based spirituality, and it works, time and again.

Our worlds are powerful reflections of our perception. What we perceive inside ourselves is what we see in our world – and the other way around – what we see in our world is a mirror of our perceptions.

This prayer helps us to shift perceptions that no longer serve, and to open ourselves up to perceptions that serve our highest good.

Here’s a simple example of when I would use the prayer: I could find myself getting really irritated with a work colleague because our personalities and communication styles are so different – you know when, once you’ve noticed an aspect of someone that really rubs you up the wrong way, that aspect gets louder and louder and more and more irritating? And certainly for myself, I can become quite self-righteous about how my approach is so right and their approach is so aggressive / selfish / mean / over bearing / bullying (you get the picture). At this point, when I stop long enough to notice that I don’t feel good inside, enter the Powerful Prayer of Perception – da da da daaaa!

Dearest Highest Self,

I can see that my current perception of (PERSON / SITUATION) does not serve my highest good; I can see that because I feel … (LIST ALL THE YUK FEELINGS THAT ARE TRIGGERED INSIDE). I am willing to change my current perception to one that best serves highest good. I hand this over to you and ask for a miracle without condition.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

Simple enough? And so powerful.

Here’s a run down of how it works:

Dearest Highest Self,

The original prayer speaks to the Holy Spirit, choose whichever higher aspect of yourself that feels best for you.

I can see that my current perception of (PERSON) does not serve my highest good;

Take ownership of the perception, rather than pointing, judging and blaming.

I can see that, because I feel … (LIST ALL THE YUK FEELINGS THAT ARE TRIGGERED INSIDE).

When we feel good inside (joyful, calm, happy, loving, trusting etc.) we know that we’re aligned with highest good, when we notice that we feel ‘bad / sad / mad’ inside we are misaligned and so holding ourselves back.

I am willing to change my current perception…

Being willing to change is MASSIVE. It means surrendering our sense of self righteousness; it means that we are open to allowing shift. Sometimes I allow myself to ‘stew’ in self righteous anger for a day or two before I’m ready to surrender my ego stance.

to one that best serves highest good.

No need to control or determine any outcome other than it should serve highest good, no need to say, ‘help me love her as she is’ or ‘help me to accept them, despite their very angry temper’ or ‘please make them move to another city so I never have to deal with them again ’. Simply to surrender to highest good outcome, whatever that is, you’ll know that it best serves highest good.

I hand this over to you and ask for a miracle without condition.

No miracle is big or small, they’re all just miracles. Don’t feel bad that you’re wasting a miracle on your insignificant perception or circumstance. Miracles are here for all of us, they’re one of the tools for survival and evolution on our planet.

Our higher selves are so keen to assist us, to hold our hands and bless us with miracles in all aspects of our life, we simply have to be willing to receive them.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

And always gratitude, Lazaris says that Gratitude is the magical ingredient that turns the mundane into the miraculous. Feel the gratitude from your heart, feel how wonderful it feels for this bug bear to be shifted from your life, gently celebrate the gift of handing this over and receiving peace in it’s place. YAY!

Wonderful Beings, give it a try, let me know how it helps you to shift forward.

LOVE TO YOU ALL, ALWAYS.
